Tamworth Base Hospital & Health Service is seeking a Registered Midwife to join its 20-bed Maternity Ward on a contract basis, starting 21 September 2026. This is a full-time, 24/7 rotating position offering $45.00 to $60.00 per hour. The role provides an opportunity to deliver high-quality maternity care in a well-resourced facility with 10 birthing suites, supported by in office shared accommodation for staff.

- 24/7 rotating roster across a dedicated 20-bed maternity ward with 10 birthing suites
- $45.00 to $60.00 per hour, with on-site shared nursing quarters provided
- Work within a comprehensive health service offering emergency, ICU, paediatric, surgical, and orthopaedic services

Preferred Requirements

- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia




- Demonstrated experience in maternity care, including labour and delivery support
- Ability to work effectively within a rotating 24/7 roster pattern
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to work across the multidisciplinary maternity team
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and maintaining clinical competency

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent qualification recognised by NMBA
- Current CPR and emergency response certification
- Post-graduate qualification or experience in specialised maternity areas such as high-risk pregnancy or neonatal care
