About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist Level 3 within the Sustaining NSW Families program, you will provide advanced clinical assessment, intervention planning and therapeutic support for children aged 0-2 years presenting with a range of developmental concerns and diagnoses. Working within a community-based multidisciplinary team, you will partner closely with families to deliver evidence-based, family-centred care that promotes optimal developmental outcomes.

This senior role combines specialist clinical practice with consultation and leadership responsibilities. You will provide expert advice to families, carers and professionals, contribute to case reviews, support collaborative care planning, and work alongside internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated service delivery. You will also have the opportunity to influence service quality through mentoring, clinical consultation and the implementation of best-practice approaches that support positive outcomes for children and families.

About You

You are an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist with a strong passion for early childhood intervention and family-centred practice. You have extensive experience assessing and supporting infants and young children with developmental challenges and can develop, implement and evaluate effective therapy interventions tailored to each child's individual needs.

You are confident working within multidisciplinary teams, providing clinical consultation and building strong relationships with families, carers and partner agencies. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills,



you can educate and empower others through the delivery of practical advice, developmental guidance and therapeutic strategies.

Highly organised and adaptable, you are proficient in clinical documentation and electronic medical record systems, and you thrive in community-based settings where collaboration, initiative and problem-solving are essential. Most importantly, you are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families during the most formative years of a child's development.

What you'll be doing
The Sustaining NSW Families (SNF) Program is a structured home visit based antenatal and postnatal support and intervention program. The program is a Nurse-led program for children and families from pregnancy to 2 years of age. The Occupational Therapist position is responsible for providing a specialist service to the vulnerable families within the Sustaining NSW Families Program.

The Occupational Therapist providers work through direct contact with the Sustaining NSW Families nurse home visitors on a consultative basis. They provide support, advice, and education to assist the nurse home visitor to promote optimal health, wellbeing, growth and development of the child.

Contact between nurse home visitors and Occupational therapist is facilitated through regular case review meetings, or informal communication between the nurse and Occupational Therapist delivering a family-centred, culturally protected,



trauma-informed and aligned with goals of the SNF program.
