About the Department
The Department of Education leads national policy and program delivery across early childhood, schools, higher education, skills, and international education, working to improve outcomes for Australians at every stage of their learning journey. Within the Department, the Community Child Care Fund (CCCF) Open Special and Reporting team supports the delivery of the CCCF grant opportunity - helping ensure vulnerable and disadvantaged children and families have access to affordable, quality early childhood education and care. This role sits within a small, collaborative team responsible for assessing grant funding queries, managing agreements, and liaising with stakeholders including the Community Grants Hub to support the program's ongoing delivery.
About the Role
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Community Child Care Fund (CCCF) Open Special and Reporting, this role would be responsible for administrative support to the program management of the CCCF grant opportunity.
Key Duties
- Contribute to a small team in the processing and assessment of CCCF grant funding queries and agreements.
- Maintain records of grant applications, outcomes, acquittals and expenditure of the appropriation budget.
- Assist in the preparation of responses to grant queries that include a review of the grant agreements, grant guidelines and other documentation as required and provide rationale for recommendations.
- Communicate with external stakeholders, including the Community Grants Hub, regarding grant agreements.
- Provide program information to the branch executive and other internal and external agencies and stakeholders about the CCCF Grant Prospect.
Key Skills and Capabilities
- Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, including ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities and delivering work to a high standard with good attention to detail
- Understanding of Australian Government grants processes and the legislative and regulatory frameworks they operate under.
- Sound communication skills, for a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Financial and analytical background.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Labour hire workers with previous program management and support experience, including within the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector, would be preferred, however this is not a requirement.
Applicants would preferably hold baseline security clearance, or equivalent.
Specific training will be provided to support them to complete their duties based on the position they have been engaged.
