Armidale and New England Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Midwife to join the Maternity Ward on a contract basis, starting 21 September 2026. This is a 24/7 coverage role offering AUD$45.00 to AUD$60.00 per hour. The hospital provides shared off-site accommodation during the current renovation period, with driving to site being the preferred arrangement. Preferred Requirements

- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA




- Demonstrated experience in maternity care, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal practice
- Ability to work flexibly across a 24/7 roster, including nights and weekends
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, working effectively within the multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent qualification recognised by AHPRA
- Current CPR and emergency resuscitation certification
- Post-graduate qualifications or experience in specialised maternity areas (e.g. high-risk pregnancy, lactation support)
