Rockhampton Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse (Grade 6) to join the Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMHS) ward on a contract basis. This is a focused opportunity to contribute to a specialist mental health service supporting young people in the Rockhampton region. The role runs from 25 August 2026 through to 18 September 2026, offering a salary of AUD73.35 to AUD80.94 per hour. Preferred Requirements

- Solid experience in mental health nursing, with demonstrated competence in assessment and care planning




- Robust understanding of child and adolescent mental health presentations and therapeutic approaches
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when engaging with young people and their families
- Current knowledge of mental health legislation, duty of care, and clinical governance standards

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated specialist experience in mental health nursing
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
