The Role
This is an outstanding first move from Big 4 or Mid-Tier into industry.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll gain hands-on exposure across financial reporting, audit, budgeting, forecasting, business partnering and strategic projects. Rather than being limited to compliance-focused work, you'll develop a deeper understanding of what drives business performance while working closely with senior leaders across the organisation. Reporting to a Financial Controller with a Big 4 background, you'll receive mentorship from someone who has successfully made the move from practice to industry and can help accelerate your development across both technical and commercial finance.

Responsibilities

- Lead month-end, half-year and year-end reporting activities
- Coordinate and manage external audit processes
- Prepare statutory financial statements and compliance reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning activities
- Develop financial models, business cases and investment analysis
- Deliver meaningful variance analysis and performance insights
- Partner with operational leaders across the business
- Support strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with tax, compliance and regulatory obligations




- Drive process improvements across reporting and finance operations
- Mentor and support junior members of the finance team
- Act as a key support to the Financial Controller

The Candidate
To be successful, you will be CA qualified and currently working within a Big 4 or reputable Mid-Tier firm. You will have developed strong technical accounting skills and be looking for an opportunity where you can broaden your commercial exposure and gain a deeper understanding of how finance supports business performance.
Ideally, you will bring:

- Experience in external audit
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting standards
- Exposure to large private, listed or multinational clients
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A commercial mindset and curiosity to understand the operational drivers of a business
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
