Our client is a global retailer and consumer services organisation seeking a commercially minded Finance Manager to to lead their finance team. The Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will play a pivotal role within the finance function. Unlike more siloed finance environments, this position provides broad exposure across technical accounting, FP&A;, leadership and commercial finance, making it an outstanding development opportunity for ambitious finance professionals looking to accelerate their careers. With direct access to senior leadership, involvement in strategic decision-making and the chance to influence processes and outcomes across the business, this role offers the ideal platform for long-term career growth.
This role would suit either an experienced Finance Manager or a strong Senior Financial Accountant looking to step into their first leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, half-year and year-end financial reporting activities
- Manage external audit,
statutory reporting and compliance obligations
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes
- Partner with operational and executive stakeholders across the business
- Prepare business cases, forecasts and financial models to support decision making
- Deliver insightful financial analysis and performance commentary
- Drive process improvement and system enhancement initiatives
- Ensure reporting deadlines are met accurately and efficiently
- Support strategic projects and business growth initiatives
- Mentor, develop and lead a high-performing finance team
- Act as a key deputy to the Financial Controller
The Candidate
To be successful, you will be CA/CPA qualified and bring strong technical accounting capabilities combined with a commercial mindset. You thrive in fast-moving environments, enjoy partnering with stakeholders and take pride in producing accurate, insightful financial information that supports business performance. Most importantly, you are someone who thinks beyond process, enjoys analysing data, solving problems and driving continuous improvement.
- Experience in financial reporting, audit and compliance
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and analytical skills
- Exposure to managing or mentoring finance teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Strong organisational and time management capabilities
- The ability to balance technical excellence with commercial thinking
- A desire to influence, improve processes and add value to the broader business
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines in a quick-paced setting
