The High Voltage sector is moving at an incredible pace, and a leading power infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for a newly awarded $80M Greenfield 330kV twin-substation and transmission line loop-in project in Northern NSW.

Operating practically as a Junior PM, you will act as the crucial technical bridge connecting design engineers, site teams, and network authorities to keep construction moving. If you are an electrical or civil engineer looking to get out on-site and step up into project management, the senior leadership team will back you all the way and fast-track your progression.

Key Highlights:

- The Project: 2x 330kV Greenfield Substations + 2.5km Transmission Line cut-in.
- Roster Flexibility: Hybrid WFH/Office structure during early works, moving to a minimum of 3 days per fortnight on-site during construction (mobilising October 2026).
- Full time Site Option: A genuine option for a 100% site-based model is available if you prefer to lead on the ground during construction (company ute included).
- Location: Open to NSW or QLD based candidates. All flights, accommodation, and travel are fully covered.

Key Responsibilities
- Technical & Design: Manage technical inputs, RFIs, and design coordination to keep site construction moving smoothly.
- Procurement & Subcontractors:

Coordinate specialised procurement packages, long-lead materials, and subcontractor site activities.
- Planning & Project Controls: Support or lead critical elements of project planning, short-term scheduling, and client reporting.
- Problem Solving: Resolve complex construction and delivery challenges live in the field.
- QA & Handover: Own as-built documentation, technical hold points, cable/termination schedules, and asset acceptance requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers, frontline construction crews, and technical specialists to drive a zero-harm safety culture.

Requirements:
- Engineering background with a Primary Electrical or Civil/Mechanical focus.
- Solid foundational exposure to utility-grade assets (132kV+).
- Highly organised, delivery-focused, and comfortable driving robust QA compliance and technical interfaces.
- Prior experience or network familiarity with authorities such as TransGrid or Powerlink is highly regarded.
- Working Rights: Candidates must hold current, full Australian working rights to be considered for this position (sponsorship is not available).
