About The Opportunity
As a Parks Maintenance Labourer with Bundaberg Regional Council, you will play a hands-on role in maintaining and enhancing Council’s parks, gardens, open spaces, cemeteries, reserves, beaches, foreshores and streetscapes across the Bundaberg Region.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will undertake a variety of general labouring and maintenance activities and safely operate light plant, vehicles, tools and equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical outdoor work, takes pride in maintaining quality community spaces and is committed to working safely and effectively as part of a team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
- Relevant experience and/or on-the-job training appropriate to the work area
- Demonstrated ability to safely undertake physical and repetitive labouring tasks
- An understanding of workplace safety and safe manual handling practices
- A current Class C Driver’s Licence
- A current General Construction Induction Card (White or Blue Card)
- Basic competencies or relevant tickets to operate light mechanical plant and hand tools appropriate to the role, such as rollers, sweepers, whipper snippers, jackhammers or similar equipment
It would also be highly regarded if you hold:
- A current LR, MR or HR Driver’s Licence
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications
- Traffic Control Accreditation
- An AC/DC ticket
You will also bring a positive and cooperative approach to teamwork,
the ability to follow established procedures and instructions, a strong commitment to safe work practices, and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues and members of the public.
