Tamworth Base Hospital & Health Service is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Theatres team on a contract basis, starting 21 September 2026. This is a 24/7 on-call position offering AUD45.00 to AUD60.00 per hour, based in Tamworth. The successful candidate will work in a modern facility with a comprehensive range of surgical and specialist wards, supporting a diverse patient population across emergency, maternity, general medical, critical care, paediatric, surgical, and orthopaedic services.

- Scrub and scout experience in a busy theatre environment
- AUD45.00 to AUD60.00 per hour, 24/7 on-call contract
- On-site shared accommodation provided, including kitchen, laundry, and study facilities

Preferred Requirements





- Proven scrub and scout experience in operating theatre settings
- Strong knowledge of theatre protocols, instrument management, and aseptic technique
- Ability to work flexibly across a 24/7 on-call roster
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced surgical workplace
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration
- Post-graduate qualification or certification in perioperative nursing
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification or willingness to obtain
