We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing for a short term contract at Bedourie in remote Queensland.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced rural and remote nurse to provide essential primary healthcare to the local community and surrounding rural properties.

The Role

- Position: Director of Nursing
- Location: Bedourie, QLD
- Contract: 7 September - 25 September 2026
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
- On-call/recall: After hours and weekends
- Community-based Primary Health Clinic
- No inpatient beds
- Administration and operational support
- Support from Queensland Ambulance Service
- Emergency care supported by the Royal Flying Doctor Service

This is a highly autonomous position and is ideally suited to a nurse with strong Remote Area Nursing experience.

About You Essential:

- Current AHPRA registration
- Previous Queensland Health experience
- Strong Rural & Remote nursing experience
- Previous senior nursing/leadership experience
- Remote Area Nursing experience
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and confidently
- Strong communication and community engagement skills
- Travel and Accommodation | Support Provided.
