The role
We are seeking a reliable and organised Mathematics and Health & Physical Education teacher to inspire students to pursue excellence academically, physically and spiritually. This is a full-time role based at our Hillcrest Secondary campus, starting 20th January 2027.
The Mathematics & PHE teaching role is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality learning experiences for our secondary students.
Key Responsibilities
MATHEMATICS
- Deliver engaging and rigorous Mathematics programs aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and College expectations.
- Develop students' mathematical understanding, reasoning, problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students across a range of abilities, including extension and intervention.
- Analyse assessment data to inform teaching practice and improve student outcomes.
- Support students to develop confidence, resilience and perseverance in Mathematics.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
- Plan and deliver dynamic Health and Physical Education programs that encourage lifelong participation in physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
- Promote physical literacy, teamwork, sportsmanship and personal responsibility through practical and theoretical learning.
- Ensure all Physical Education lessons are conducted in a protected, well-managed environment in accordance with College policies and risk management procedures.
- Organise, supervise and assess practical activities, maintaining appropriate equipment and facilities.
- Support College sporting programs, inter-school competitions and co-curricular activities as required.
The successful candidate will have:
- The desire to teach in an environment where both Christian values and academic excellence are emphasised
- Passionate about teaching Mathematics and HPE within the Secondary demographic
- Relevant qualifications with VIT registration and commitment to professional learning
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proven record of field-work experience and/or relevant tertiary qualifications
