Lead operations on a major Tier 1 mining contract in the Pilbara, where safety, people, and performance drive everything we do.
We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to own the day-to-day operational delivery of transport services across a large-scale mining contract. This is a senior leadership role with genuine accountability for safety, workforce performance, fleet utilisation, and commercial outcomes working closely with the Contract Manager, HSE, Workshop, and Shutdowns teams to keep the operation running safely and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

- Own secure, reliable, and efficient day-to-day delivery of transport operations against client service requirements
- Lead operational risk, ensuring hazards, fatigue, and critical controls are actively managed
- Provide direction and oversight to Supervisors and Leading Hands, building accountability and a high-performance culture
- Manage employee performance, conduct, and workplace matters in consultation with HR
- Lead workforce planning, rostering, and resource deployment to meet fatigue, competency, and site access requirements
- Monitor labour, fleet utilisation, and cost drivers to support commercial and contract outcomes
- Maintain solid client and stakeholder relationships, proactively managing risks and improvement opportunities
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across safety, reliability, and productivity

About You

- Proven experience managing complex transport, logistics,



or safety-critical operations (mining or remote operations highly regarded)
- Track record leading supervisors and operational teams across multiple sites or workgroups
- Strong background in workforce planning, rostering, and fatigue management
- Experience managing employee performance and workplace matters in partnership with HR
- Solid understanding of operational risk and compliance within a structured HSE system
- Commercial acumen (comfortable owning labour, fleet, and cost performance)
- Confident engaging directly with client stakeholders at an operational level

Desirable

- Experience on BHP or other Tier 1 mining contracts
- Multi-site FIFO or regional operations experience
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Leadership & Management, Business, or Operations Management
- Formal incident investigation training (e.g. 5Whys, ICAM)

Requirements

- Current MR Class Driver's Licence
- Ability to obtain National Police Clearance and pass site-required medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Ability to obtain BHP and applicable site inductions
