The City of Kalamunda is a local authority with a population of 60,000 located approximately a 35 minute drive from the Perth CBD providing the opportunity to work in a varied planning environment, from rural natural bushland to highly developed residential, commercial and industrial areas.

About this Opportunity

As a Statutory Planner, you'll have the opportunity to play an important role in shaping the future development of a growing community while building your professional expertise within local government. Working alongside experienced planning professionals, you'll assess a diverse range of development applications, provide planning advice to residents and stakeholders, and contribute to the preparation of planning policies and strategic initiatives. Skills and experience required for this position:

- Experience in providing full spectrum of planning and development services and information including but not limited to the Local Planning Scheme and associated Policy.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements and laws relevant to Local Government and corporate administration, particularly in the areas of Statutory Planning.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to function effectively to meet short deadlines in a pressured environment.
- Accurate presentation of advice, instruction/guidance and research findings,



both verbally and written, via all standard forms of business communication
- Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or an equivalent or demonstrated evidence of working towards obtaining the degree (final year).

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full time role working Monday to Friday, 75 hours over a 9-day fortnight with a rostered day off option

About the Benefits

This position offers a salary of Level 5/6 being $86,049 – 100,087 per annum, (depending on experience and skill level) plus superannuation.
