Are you an experienced governance, risk and assurance professional ready to step into a senior strategic role within a complex Queensland Government environment? This 6-month chance is ideal for a highly capable leader who can provide authoritative advice, strengthen corporate governance practices and support effective organisational performance through contemporary risk, planning and assurance frameworks.

About the role:

- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of strategic planning, performance, risk management and governance frameworks.
- Provide high-level advice to executives, senior leaders and staff on governance, audit, planning, performance and risk matters.
- Support effective corporate governance activities, including internal audit, legal matters, Right to Information matters and insurance-related activities.
- Research, prepare and present complex reports, briefs and submissions on governance-related issues for senior and executive audiences.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen accountability, assurance, risk awareness and organisational capability.
- Build strong working relationships across government, central agencies, internal business areas and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, communities of practice and strategic projects that support good governance, risk maturity and business improvement.

About you:

- Strong knowledge and practical experience across planning, performance, risk management, assurance and corporate governance functions.
- Highly developed analytical, strategic management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear, well-reasoned advice at a senior level.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes in a demanding and evolving environment, working flexibly and proactively with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills,



with the ability to build productive relationships at all levels.
- A collaborative and ethical approach, with the ability to support team capability, model respectful behaviour and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Experience in government agency risk management, planning and risk controls will be highly regarded.
