MineSet Recruitment is a specialist recruitment and labour hire business supporting mining operations across Australia.
We are currently seeking an experienced Open Pit Mine Geologist to join our client's team and provide high-quality geological support across the operation.
About the Role
This is a diverse mine geology role working closely with Mining Engineering and Operations to support secure and effective mining outcomes.
You will be involved in grade control, geological mapping, diamond drill core logging, blast-hole sampling, ore classification, geological modelling and reconciliation.
There is also scope to contribute to mine planning, resource estimation and the ongoing improvement of geological systems and processes.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical capability and a practical approach to mine geology. You will be comfortable working independently, making sound geological assessments and building effective relationships across technical and operational teams.
This is a residential position based in regional NSW. A comprehensive relocation package is available for the successful candidate and their family, including support with the transition to the region.
Relocation is a requirement of the position, with no FIFO or DIDO options available.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Geology or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an open pit mining environment.
- Strong experience in mine geology and grade control.
- Experience using Maptek Vulcan 3D or similar geological modelling software.
- Sound knowledge of geological mapping, drill core logging, sampling and interpretation.
- The ability to interpret geological and mining data and apply it to practical outcomes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively with technical and operational teams.
- A proactive approach to safety, continuous improvement and professional development.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
