This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys working independently, solving problems and travelling to customer sites across Victoria.

About the Role
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for commissioning, testing, servicing and repairing laboratory fume cupboards and associated equipment. You will work across a diverse range of customer sites, including universities, schools, commercial laboratories and private laboratories.

Your work will play an important role in ensuring laboratory equipment remains safe, reliable and compliant with relevant Australian Standards, NATA requirements and Victorian safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Commission, test, service, diagnose faults and repair laboratory fume cupboards and associated equipment
- Attend customer sites and work independently while maintaining high safety standards
- Complete commissioning and testing in accordance with applicable standards, specifications and procedures
- Prepare accurate test reports, service reports and compliance documentation
- Inspect equipment and work areas, identify hazards and apply appropriate risk controls
- Comply with site inductions, permits, PPE and customer safety requirements
- Apply compliance labels and maintain accurate job documentation
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas and dispose of materials responsibly
- Manage jobs and travel within allocated timeframes
- Participate in training, competency activities and site inspections
- Identify service follow-up requirements and potential sales opportunities for referral internally

About You
To be successful in this role,



you will have:

- Experience in technical service, commissioning, maintenance, fault finding or equipment repair
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- The ability to work safely and independently at customer sites
- Experience identifying hazards and confidently stopping or escalating work where conditions are unsafe
- The ability to complete accurate technical reports and service documentation
- Excellent communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers and site representatives
- A current Victorian Driver Licence and willingness to travel throughout Victoria, including occasional overnight regional stays and interstate travel where required
- A current Victorian Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one
- Flexibility to work varied hours when required to meet customer and site access requirements

Highly Regarded
The following experience or qualifications will be highly regarded:

- Experience with electronics, electrical controls, airflow systems or laboratory ventilation equipment
- A Restricted Electrical D-Class Licence
- Experience commissioning, testing or servicing laboratory fume cupboards or related equipment
- Familiarity with NATA-accredited testing activities and AS/NZS 2243.8 requirements
