Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is proud to offer supported positions in our 2027 Post Graduate Program, designed to help you develop advanced clinical skills while working in a supportive and energetic regional health environment.

About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, Special Care Nursery, four operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About the Program

Our Post Graduate Program offers a unique opportunity for Registered Nurses to specialise while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative and supportive clinical setting.

Specialty areas for 2027 include:

- Critical Care Nursing

- Dialysis

- Emergency Nursing

- Midwifery





- Operating Suites

- Medical / Surgical Nursing

- Palliative Care

Successful applicants will join our February 2027 intake and work 0.6-1.0 EFT on the ward while completing their postgraduate studies through Deakin University or Federation University (Midwifery stream only).

To take part in the program, you must also apply directly to your chosen educational provider for enrolment in their postgraduate course.

Duties

- Acquire hands-on clinical experience on the ward, working an EFT of 0.6-1.0, while completing post-graduate studies through Deakin University or Federation University (for Midwifery students only).

To be eligible you need to:

- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 12 months of clinical nursing experience
