About the role

This is the senior leadership role at Lower Macleay Pre-School, combining pedagogical leadership, people management, regulatory compliance and operational oversight. You will be the Nominated Supervisor and Responsible Person, reporting to the Management Committee.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the educational program and Quality Improvement Plan against the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standard

- Act as Nominated Supervisor and Responsible Person, holding the safety and wellbeing of every child as the paramount consideration

- Lead and develop the team, and maintain regulatory ratios and qualification requirements

- Manage the service within the committee-approved budget, including enrolments, occupancy, fees and government funding

- Build warm partnerships with families and represent the preschool across the local community

About you

- An approved Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an approved early childhood teaching qualification

- Eligibility to be a Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Law





- Substantial early childhood experience including leadership or supervisory experience

- Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, child protection obligations and the NSW Child Secure Standards

- A current Working With Children Check, plus First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates

Lower Macleay Pre-School is a community-based, not-for-profit preschool at Smithtown on the NSW Mid North Coast, on Dunghutti Country. We are an incorporated association and registered charity, governed by a voluntary management committee of parents and community members. Our team of twelve delivers a high-quality, play-based program in a close-knit service where every educator knows every child.
