Our campus is located on Gadigal land in central Sydney, within the historic sandstone walls of what was once the Darlinghurst Gaol and is now one of the nation's premier art institutions where many of Australia's leading artists having studied and taught. The National Art School (NAS) is accredited through TEQSA and offers Bachelor of Fine Art, Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours), Masters and Doctorate courses. The School is at the forefront of learning, creativity and innovative practice utilising its independent identity and distinctive studio-based teaching model to deliver exceptional higher education and research, scholarship and professionalpractice.
The Position
The Student Recruitment and Admissions Lead develops and manages pathways for prospective students into the NAS undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating and project managing the School's domestic and international recruitment activities and admissions processes. Responsibilities include managing major NSW expos, information sessions, school engagement, and co-ordinating applications, entry interviews, enrolment tracking, applying the international recruitment strategy, working closely with contracted agencies, internal and externalstakeholders.
The position works collaboratively with academic staff, Student Services, Marketing, and external partners to engage prospective students, strengthen the School's outreach program, and meet student recruitment and participation KPIs. The Student Recruitment and Admissions Lead maintains comprehensive knowledge of NAS's academic plan, course delivery, strategic plan, graduate outcomes, and studentexperience.
Please note that this position involves domestic and international travel and may require flexibility to occasionally work outside standard hours, including evenings andweekends.
What you bring to the role
You are adynamic and highly organised student recruitment professional with experience building meaningful stakeholder relationships and supporting prospective students through to admissions. You bring exceptional communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with students, parents, teachers, career advisers, international recruitment agents and industrypartners.
Combining strong project management capabilities, you can successfully coordinate domestic and international recruitment activities, manage multiple priorities, use data to inform decisions and achieve enrolment targets. You have asound understanding of higher education admissions, student recruitment practices and emerging market trends, with experience developing recruitment pipelines, managing leads and fostering partnerships across local and internationalmarkets.
Ideally, you bring an understanding of the arts, creative industries or fine art sector and are passionate about creating inclusive opportunities that connect aspiring artists with educational pathways. Versatile, proactive and results-driven, you thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to ethical practice, continuous improvement and delivering outstanding experiences for future students andstakeholders.
