We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Disability Support Worker to support a client in Busselton. This is a excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people live more independently, stay connected with their community and enjoy the things that matter to them.
The regular shifts for this role are typically:
- Tuesday: 11am-3pm
- Friday: 11am–4pm
We are particularly interested in applicants who can offer consistent weekly availability and flexibility to support additional shifts when required.
About the role
Your day may include:
- Supporting the client to access community activities and appointments
- Providing companionship and bringing fun and positivity to their day
- Supporting the development of hobbies, interests and new skills
- Assisting with daily living activities
- Providing personal care where required
- Administering medication in line with care plans and training
- Assisting with grocery shopping and meal preparation
- Supporting the client to work towards their individual goals
- Working alongside medical and allied health professionals to support positive outcomes
- Transporting and accompanying the client to appointments and activities
- Walking the client’s dogs and supporting activities involving their pets
Because dogs are part of the client’s everyday life, applicants must be comfortable around dogs and happy to assist with dog walking as part of the role.

- Are comfortable working independently and building a strong professional relationship with the client
- Understand the importance of supporting people to make their own choices and do things for themselves wherever possible
- Are flexible, responsive and empathetic
- Are comfortable supporting people with a range of disability-related needs
- Have an understanding of trauma-informed care, behaviour support, intellectual disability, psychosocial disability, seizure management and PTSD
- Are comfortable around dogs and happy to assist with dog walking
- Can provide reliable weekly availability, particularly on Tuesdays and Fridays

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have, or be willing to obtain where applicable:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Manual Handling Training Certificate
- Medication Administration Training
- Current First Aid and CPR
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Access to a reliable, fully insured vehicle
- A valid driver’s licence
A Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services, Disability, or equivalent experience is highly desirable but not essential.
Where applicable, we prefer required certifications to have at least three months of validity remaining.
