About the role

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Accountant to join the team at BT & A Consultants Pty Ltd in Alexandria, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting expertise within a dynamic organisation. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with taxation requirements.

Your contributions will directly support the strategic financial objectives of the business and help maintain the highest standards of financial accuracy and integrity.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and accounts in accordance with accounting standards

- Managing tax compliance and preparing tax returns for the unit trust and associated entities

- Conducting bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies

- Australian payroll knowledge

What we're looking for

- A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting

- Strong knowledge of taxation principles and experience in preparing tax returns

- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel/word, Handisoft/MYOB AccountRight payroll/XERO pay roll
- knowledge in the following:

- STP/STP Phase 2

- PAYG withholding
- superannuation

- Annual leave and personal/carer's leave

- Long service leave

- Termination payments
- pay roll tax & payroll reconciliation
