Company Description The Business Hub is a community-based, not-for-profit business development organization supporting small to medium Australian businesses through start-up, expansion, and problem-solving services. The organization provides business education and training, mentoring, and coaching to help clients build sustainable and resilient enterprises. Its network of specialist members includes professionals in security, legal, accounting, marketing, and digital solutions, offering comprehensive support across key business functions.
Staff are qualified and experienced business people, backed by a Board of 9 local business leaders who actively contribute their expertise.
The Business
Hub also delivers accredited workshops for teams and members, enabling organizations to access professional training without needing in-house facilitators.
Role Description The Administrator is a casual, in office role based in Kurri Kurri, NSW. This position is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative support, including managing correspondence, maintaining records and databases, coordinating calendars, and assisting with meeting and workshop logistics. The Administrator will greet and support visitors and clients, handle phone and email inquiries, and ensure the smooth running of the office environment.
The role involves preparing documents and reports, processing invoices and basic financial data,
and supporting the delivery of business education, training, and events. The Administrator will collaborate with staff, members, and the Board to support operational efficiency and a high standard of service to the business community.
Qualifications
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, including experience with scheduling, document management, and record-keeping.
- Proficiency with office software and digital tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email, online calendars, social media and databases).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, visitors, staff, and Board members.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, reporting, and basic financial or invoicing tasks.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team in an on-site environment.
- Previous experience in an administrative, customer service, or office coordination role, preferably within a not-for-profit or business services setting with tourism experience highly desirable.
- Understanding of or interest in small to medium business operations, education, or training services is highly regarded.
- Relevant vocational or tertiary qualification in business administration, office management, or a related field is desirable.
