Seraph — Adaptive Lemna Cultivation Internship. Become one of the few real experts in growing lemna for the real world.

On-site, Canggu, Bali · 4–6 months · paid role in Spain or Melbourne after

What does it take to grow one of nature's most versatile plants outdoors — in real water and real weather, not under lab lights that cost more than the crop returns? That is the question Seraph exists to answer. Seraph builds the adaptive system that grows Lemna for the real world — a plant that already cleans water, feeds livestock, and can be steered toward high-protein food.

This internship makes you one of the few people who actually know how: almost nobody has real expertise in this yet — in a few months, you will.

The engine is easy to say and hard to do: AI proposes, the bench validates. A computer-vision system reads a whole cultivation tray from a single capture; a 256-paper knowledge base maps where the science is thin. We are early — proof-of-concept, first pilot trials — and we say so; nothing here is validated yet. The program runs on-site in Canggu, Bali. Bali is the doorway; a paid Seraph role in Spain — or the Melbourne engineering pipeline — is the destination.

What you build

You go deep on one track, with the whole system in view. Build — the instrumented cultivation unit: a contained, sensor-fitted, modular system designed to leave the lab; none is built yet, so you help build the first. Sense — the vision-and-AI pipeline: teaching the tray-reader to measure growth and stress, not just species and coverage. Investigate — the science: the water chemistry, the plant, the composition — running the bench experiments that tell the system what is actually true.

The bar A system, model, or experiment built outside coursework, with the failure mode named. Work another person can pick up and run without you in the room. A result you can defend at the bench, not just on a slide.

The judgment to tell a real signal from a hopeful one — because we are early, and wrong answers found fast are the point.

Who this is for

Curious builders from engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, or data who understand that a young field rewards the ones who show up early and go deep. The map is dead: the safe, well-charted path is not where the interesting work is. A bad result here is data, not failure. You keep going until the bench and the model agree.

Where you do it — and why here The program runs from Canggu, Bali — a 4,000 sqm campus where the people running the companies are on it every day. You know Bali as where you switch off; here it earns your full attention — what this buys is focus, not a view. Monday reset, Friday ship — show what you found. Being wrong six times a year is how the work moves. One cohort, on-site, the full phase — not remote.

What happens after

Interns have moved into full-time roles across the group — Bali, Spain, Australia. From here the path runs to a paid role — at Seraph in Spain, or the Melbourne engineering pipeline — where the work continues for real. Earned, not guaranteed; the role, visa, and pay are agreed before you commit, never after.

Terms

Unpaid under Indonesian law. Housing provided. C22B internship visa sponsored and paid at completion. Daily lunch on us. Starting September. Questions about the fit or the timeline? Tell us — we'll talk you through how the program actually runs.

Requirements A degree in a relevant field — engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, or data — or proof you can finish something hard. Not what you know, but how fast you learn; this field is young enough that everyone is partly self-taught. Something you built, ran, or discovered that nobody asked you to. Comfort with AI as a working tool, and the judgment to catch what it gets wrong. On-site in Canggu, the full phase.

How to apply

Apply via the LinkedIn application field. Send a short note and your CV — and, if you have one, the repository, dataset, or lab notebook that shows your work.
