We have multiple positions for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Billing Officer to join our Finance team, based in Penrith with hybrid working arrangements.

The Billing Officer is responsible for the accurate, timely and efficient administration of patient billing, while providing exceptional service to patients, internal stakeholders and VMO partners.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete daily billing accurately and efficiently in line with established processes and KPIs

- Ensure all relevant billing documentation is complete, accurate and processed within required timeframes

- Prepare and utilise billing data and reports to support accurate and efficient workflows

- Apply relevant billing and claiming requirements across health funds, public patients, DVA, WorkCover and third-party arrangements

- Ensure patient accounts are billed accurately and in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and contracts

- Provide professional and responsive assistance regarding billing enquiries

- Identify and escalate billing issues and discrepancies promptly





- Maintain accurate records and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times

- Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve billing processes and departmental efficiency

- Work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team

- Participate in quality improvement, audits and accreditation activities as required

About You

You will have excellent attention to detail, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work within deadlines.

Desirable experience includes:

- Experience in billing, accounts receivable or finance administration

- Healthcare billing experience

- Knowledge of health fund, DVA, Workcover, public and third-party billing processes

- Experience with patient management systems such as WebPAS

- Exceptional customer service experience

- Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
