Oakgrove Industries is a small bespoke joinery shop doing premium residential and commercial work. It is a workshop, not a factory. You will build a laundry one day, be edging and drilling the next, then be on site scribing a kitchen into a wall the next.
You need to read the drawing, work out how to do it, and get on with it. Part of the role is bringing along a junior cabinetmaker, which means showing him how and why, checking his work, and letting him have a go even when it is quicker to do it yourself.
Key responsibilities
- Cabinet assembly and general bench work
- Hardware, Blum runners and hinges, drawer fronts and adjustments
- Edging, docking and machining as required
- Site installs, scribing and fitting off
- Mentoring a junior cabinetmaker
About you
- Trade qualified, or solid experience if you are not ticketed
- Can work from shop drawings and a cutting list unsupervised
- Careful with finish quality, most of our work is on show
- Willing to teach
- Current driver's licence, white card a bonus
