Positive Change for Marine Life (PCFML) is seeking an experienced Catchment Restoration Program Lead to facilitate the implementation and ongoing development of our Rewilding our Floodplains (RoF) program in Northern NSW.

This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who can combine environmental science and restoration knowledge with strong project management, landholder engagement and community leadership.

The successful applicant will lead delivery across restoration planning, ecological monitoring, landholder stewardship, community participation, stakeholder and Aboriginal partnerships, reporting, digital resources and broader program development.

They will also play an important role in maintaining relationships with existing funders and partners, advancing funding opportunities, and helping communicate the program's ecological and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead day-to-day implementation and ongoing development of the RoF NSW program.
- Coordinate restoration planning and delivery across priority project sites.
- Work directly with landholders to support restoration, stewardship and long-term property management outcomes.
- Lead or coordinate ecological monitoring, evaluation and adaptive management.
- Build strong relationships with Traditional Custodians, Aboriginal organisations, community groups, funders and project partners.
- Recruit, train and manage volunteers and interns supporting restoration, monitoring, community engagement and digital activities.
- Coordinate workshops, citizen-science activities, restoration events and on-Country activities.




- Maintain spatial project records and contribute to GIS, ArcGIS StoryMaps, River Strong and other digital resources.
- Coordinate milestone reporting, project documentation, budget tracking and funding compliance.
- Contribute to funder relationships, strategic grant applications and the ongoing sustainability of RoF NSW.
- Translate ecological information and program outcomes into clear communications for landholders, funders, partners and the wider community.

About You We are looking for someone with:

- Experience leading or coordinating environmental restoration, conservation, natural resource management or comparable multi-stakeholder programs.
- Practical knowledge of riparian, floodplain, wetland, estuarine and/or coastal restoration.
- Experience with ecological monitoring and interpretation of environmental data.
- Strong project-management skills, including workplans, budgets, reporting, contractors and competing delivery priorities.
- The ability to build effective relationships with landholders, communities, partners and diverse stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to translate scientific information for non-technical audiences.
- Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to work independently within a geographically dispersed team.





A relevant environmental qualification and at least five years of professional experience are required.

Experience with government-funded environmental projects, GIS/ArcGIS, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, landholder stewardship, citizen science or environmental education will be highly regarded.

About the Role

This position is intentionally broad. The successful applicant will lead and coordinate delivery across these areas, supported by PCFML staff, specialist contractors, project partners, volunteers, interns and technical advisors, where appropriate.

The position is based in the Northern Rivers of NSW, with regular travel throughout the Brunswick River catchment and surrounding program areas. Applicants living elsewhere within practical travelling distance of the Northern Rivers are also encouraged to apply.

The role combines home-based work, field activities, landholder and partner meetings, community events and program administration.

Remuneration The position is 0.6 FTE, equivalent to three days per week.

The full-time equivalent salary range is AU$90,000-$100,000 per annum plus superannuation, pro rata according to the 0.6 FTE arrangement.

Approved program-related travel and field expenses are covered by PCFML.
