About The Role The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies).



This role provides the delivery of clinical care and support specific to Primary Health Care within a Correctional or Detention setting.

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

- Advanced clinical knowledge in the area of primary health care delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members. Greater than two years clinical experience in corrections, primary health care, emergency or rural and remote health would be highly regarded.
- Ability to role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards.
- Ability to support and lead quality improvement and research initiatives within the work unit, contributing to the use of evidence based practice to facilitate improved patient outcomes.

Mandatory Requirements

- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16




- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
