About the role

We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and reliable Commercial Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. In this role, you will play a central part in preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining strict kitchen hygiene, food safety, and efficiency standards.

Key responsibilities

- Inspect, select, and procure fresh, high-quality ingredients (proteins, produce, grains, and dry goods) according to standard menu specifications and recipes.
- Measure, clean, chop, blend, season, heat, and cook food items maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and taste.
- Monitor cooking processes, food temperatures, and visual presentation to ensure every dish meets established culinary and safety standards.
- Coordinate, supervise, and collaborate with junior kitchen staff, kitchen hands, and apprentices during prep and service periods.
- Clean, maintain, and safely operate commercial kitchen machinery, tools, and utensils according to operational and WHS guidelines.
- Monitor stock levels, conduct regular inventory takes, inspect incoming deliveries for correct labelling, dating, and temperatures,



and optimize stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Assist senior kitchen staff with menu planning, developing new recipes, controlling food costings, and tracking wastage.
- Maintain full compliance with WH&S; regulations, food handling standards, and statutory hygiene practices across all kitchen areas.

About you

- AQF Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Minimum 2 years of relevant post-qualification commercial kitchen experience.
- Solid practical knife skills, food prep techniques, temperature logging, and equipment operation knowledge.
- Strong communication, team collaboration, and ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Australian work rights preferred, but visa sponsorship is available for qualified applicants.
