ABOUT ALIGA
ALIGA Pty Ltd is an Australian engineering and project management consultancy supporting the delivery of complex public infrastructure projects.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Construction to join ALIGA for a long-term project delivery assignment based in Cairns.
THE ROLE The successful candidate will manage civil infrastructure projects through construction delivery and close-out, working closely with contractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include
- Managing project scope, programme, cost, risk, quality and safety
- Administering construction contracts and assessing contractor submissions
- Monitoring construction progress and contractor performance
- Coordinating technical, commercial and stakeholder matters
- Preparing project reports, correspondence, recommendations and approvals
- Managing project risks, issues, variations and delivery interfaces
- Supporting project governance and timely decision-making
- Managing handover, completion and close-out activities
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- Current IBCP prequalification at PMC01 level
- Demonstrated experience managing civil infrastructure construction projects
- Strong construction contract administration and commercial management capability
- Relevant engineering,
construction or project management qualifications
- Strong written reporting and stakeholder communication skills
- Australian working rights
- Ability to work in office in Cairns for the duration of the engagement
IMPORTANT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT
Current IBCP PMC01 prequalification is mandatory. Applicants without approved PMC01 status, including those with applications still under assessment, cannot be considered.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Delivery of government or public-sector infrastructure projects
- Management of contractors and multidisciplinary consultants
- Assessment of variations, extension-of-time claims and payment claims
- Experience working within formal project governance and reporting frameworks
