Come and be part of our Group Financial Crime Risk team, a function dedicated to protecting the bank, our customers, and the communities we serve from the impacts of financial crime. As an Investigator in our Alerts team, you’ll make an impact by:
- Protecting our customers by investigating and resolving alert-driven fraud and scam activities with speed and precision. Collect, analyse and compile evidence and respond swiftly and decisively, while adhering to the Fraud Management policy, relevant legislation, SLAs and quality standards.
- Customer Service, collaboration and stakeholder Engagement: Build collaborative relationships with customers, law enforcement, other financial institutions, and internal risk and technology teams to deliver positive outcomes.
- Driving continuous improvement by identifying control enhancements and training opportunities to reduce future occurrences and losses.
This is a part time (0.5FTE) 12 month contract which can be based in Melbourne, Bendigo or Adelaide.
The roster
This team provides 24/7 support to our customers. The available roster is detailed below – this is a fixed roster, repeating each fortnight.
We are seeking candidates with flexibility to support the team with additional hours/shifts at times. Penalty rates apply for Afternoon shifts, Weekend shifts and rostered days which fall on a public holiday.
Week 1
Thursday – Dayshift: 8:30am to 5pm
Friday - Dayshift: 8:30am to 5pm
Week 2
Thursday – Afternoon shift 4:30pm to 12:30am
Friday – Afternoon shift 4:30pm to 12:30am
Saturday – Weekend shift: 8:30am to 4:30pm
What you’ll bring to the role
Essential
- 2+ years' experience in a similar Financial Crime Risk role within Banking & Financial organisation - ideally Fraud & Scam Investigator.
- Customer service experience, ideally over the phone, and with a diverse spectrum of people
- Strong analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to disseminate complex information and make informed and quick decisions.
- Sound knowledge of banking systems, products, services and procedures
- Strengths in working independently, managing ambiguity and varied workloads and priorities.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse workloads and priorities.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Highly desirable
- A willingness to undertake formal fraud prevention and investigation studies.
- Working knowledge of processes and procedures in financial institutions.
- Exposure to Financial Crimes detection systems.
