Rogue Royalty and RogueRaw are looking for a highly organised, capable and resourceful E-Commerce & Customer Experience Coordinator to join our team.
This is a varied, hands-on role working across Shopify, customer experience, inventory, content and day-to-day e-commerce operations.
We're looking for someone who can do more than simply follow instructions.
You should be naturally curious, comfortable with technology and willing to investigate when something doesn't make sense. You notice problems, follow things through and look for opportunities to make things better.
You will also work directly with our customers, so you need to be someone who genuinely enjoys helping and communicating with people.
You don't need to be an expert in everything. But you do need to be capable, willing to learn and able to demonstrate the skills and experience you tell us you have.
What You'll Be Doing
Shopify & E-Commerce
- Manage and update products, images, pricing and inventory in Shopify
- Maintain accurate stock levels and assist with stock control
- Prepare basic reports using Shopify and Microsoft Excel
- Check website functionality, promotions, bundles and upsells
- Check Shopify apps are configured and operating correctly
- Investigate basic Shopify or app issues
- Liaise with Shopify app support teams and follow issues through to resolution
- Test changes to ensure they are actually working
- Assist with Shopify POS and other business systems
You don't need to be a developer, but you should be technically confident and comfortable working things out.
Customer Experience & UGC
- Respond professionally to customer enquiries by email, phone and online messaging
- Assist customers with product selection and practical advice after completing training
- Follow up customer enquiries and outstanding matters
- Identify happy and engaged customers who may make great brand advocates
- Identify opportunities for customer reviews, testimonials and UGC
- Coordinate photos, videos and other content with customers
- Follow up content opportunities and make sure agreed content is actually received
- Recognise recurring customer questions or issues and bring them to the team's attention
Content & Photography
You don't need to be a professional photographer or graphic designer, but you do need a good visual eye. You may be asked to:
- Take good-quality product, lifestyle and behind-the-scenes photos
- Capture short-form video using a phone or camera
- Perform basic image editing and cropping
- Use Canva or similar software for straightforward content
- Prepare and upload images to Shopify
- Assist with simple social and website content
- Coordinate customers, models and dogs for content and photoshoots
- Organise products and other requirements for shoots
- Follow up contributors after shoots to ensure content is received and organised
An instinct for recognising what will make a good photo, video or piece of content is highly valued.
The Person We're Looking For
This position will suit someone who is organised, switched on and resourceful. When you encounter a problem, your first response isn't simply "I don't know."
You'll investigate, ask questions, look at the information available, contact support where necessary and try to work out what is happening.
You're also someone who follows things through.
If you take responsibility for something, we expect you to keep track of it, follow up when necessary and see it through to completion.
You should be
- Highly organised and structured
- Reliable and accountable
- Naturally curious
- Comfortable solving problems
- Confident learning new technology
- Excellent at following up
- Robust in written and verbal communication
- Comfortable dealing with customers
- Attentive to detail
- Able to prioritise competing tasks
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Comfortable receiving feedback and applying it
Skills We're Looking For
You should be able to demonstrate competence in most of the following:
- Shopify or another major e-commerce platform
- Microsoft Excel – confident working with spreadsheets, sorting/filtering data and basic reporting
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Outlook
- Shopify POS or similar systems
- Basic Canva or image-editing skills
- Taking good-quality photographs
- Capturing usable short-form video/content
- Working with online applications and software
- Professional customer email communication
- Strong written English
- Accurate data entry and record keeping
Experience with Gorgias, Shopify apps, social media, UGC, content creation or e-commerce reporting would be highly regarded.
Canine Knowledge & Genuine Interest
Previous pet-industry experience is not essential. However, Rogue Royalty and RogueRaw are specialist canine brands. Our customers often want genuine advice rather than simply being sold a product.
An existing interest in dogs, canine nutrition, raw feeding, training, behaviour, equipment or canine health would therefore be a significant advantage.
More importantly, we want someone who is genuinely interested in learning.
We can teach product knowledge. It's much harder to teach curiosity and genuine enthusiasm.
If working with dogs and learning more about canine nutrition, training and equipment genuinely interests you, tell us why in your application.
Your Skills Will Be Assessed
Please only list skills you can genuinely demonstrate. As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete short practical tasks relevant to the position.
These may include
- Working with a basic Excel spreadsheet
- Navigating or completing a task within an e-commerce system
- Writing a response to a customer enquiry
- Identifying how you would investigate a basic Shopify/app problem
- Demonstrating basic Canva or image-editing ability
- Showing examples of photos, videos or content you have created
- Discussing how you would organise and follow through a customer/content opportunity
We're not looking for perfection or an expert in every area. We are looking for genuine capability, resourcefulness and willingness to learn.
What We Offer
- A varied role with genuine responsibility
- Exposure to multiple areas of an established e-commerce business
- Training across our products and raw-feeding approach
- Opportunities to develop your Shopify and e-commerce knowledge
- Involvement in content, UGC and brand activities
- The opportunity to contribute ideas and improvements
- A supportive small-team workplace
- Work across two established Australian-owned canine brands
- Recognition for initiative and ideas that create genuine value
How to Apply
Please send your résumé together with a short cover letter addressing the following:
1. What experience do you have with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms?
2. How would you rate your Microsoft Excel skills, and what have you actually used Excel for?
3. Provide an example of a problem you had to investigate and solve yourself.
4. Tell us about something you noticed or improved in a previous position without being asked.
5. Tell us about any experience you have with Canva, photography, video or content creation.
6. Why are you genuinely interested in working with Rogue Royalty and RogueRaw?
7. Do you have an existing interest or experience in dogs, canine nutrition, training or related areas?
If you have examples of photography, video, social content or other relevant work, please include a link or examples with your application. We don't expect every applicant to have experience in every area. We're looking for someone with the right combination of capability, initiative, organisation and genuine interest in what we do.
Only applicants with the right to work in Australia will be considered.
