Role Description This part-time Data Analyst (Entry / Junior) role is a hybrid position based in Melbourne, VIC, with flexibility for some work from home.
The Data
Analyst will support research and organisational initiatives by collecting, cleaning, and organising quantitative and qualitative data from various sources. Day-to-day tasks include performing basic data analysis, preparing statistical summaries, and assisting with data modeling for research projects. The role involves creating transparent visualisations and reports, supporting the preparation of presentations and publications, and collaborating with team members to answer data-related questions.
The Data
Analyst will also help maintain data documentation and follow data quality and ethical research standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and foundational Data Analytics capabilities.
- Candidates should possess basic Statistics knowledge and the ability to interpret quantitative results.
- Candidates should possess introductory Data Modeling skills and an understanding of structured datasets.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, or basic data analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS) is beneficial.
- Attention to detail, integrity in handling research data, and the ability to follow established methodologies are expected.
- An undergraduate degree or ongoing studies in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Interest in entrepreneurship, small business research, and working in a non-profit environment is an advantage.
