Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Data Scientist supporting the Embassy’s analytical and reporting needs.

The Data

Scientist will collect, clean, and analyze data related to diplomatic activities, international cooperation, environmental and urban development programs, and consular services. The role includes designing and implementing data models, producing statistical reports, and creating dashboards and visualizations to support evidence-based decision-making and policy analysis.

The Data

Scientist will collaborate with diplomatic and administrative staff to translate complex data into transparent insights and narratives for internal use and for reports to Peruvian authorities and international organizations. The position may also involve developing frameworks for monitoring key indicators, improving data quality, and recommending data-driven strategies to enhance the Embassy’s operations and outreach.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Data Science and Data Analytics, including experience with modern analytical tools and methods.




- Candidates should possess solid skills in Statistics and Data Analysis, with the ability to interpret quantitative results for policy and operational decisions.
- Candidates should possess practical skills in Data Visualization, including designing clear charts, dashboards, and visual reports for non-technical audiences.
- Relevant experience with programming languages commonly used in data science (such as Python or R) and data querying (such as SQL) is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of international relations, public policy, environmental or urban development data, or work with international organizations is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field preferred.
