The Role
We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join a clients Capital Project Works team, responsible for two WA based gold mines. This is a Perth based role with occasional site visits.
The role is accountable for carrying out electrical and instrumentation designs, managing external electrical contractors and consultants to produce project deliverables.
You will also provide technical support for on-site execution of the electrical and instrumentation portion of both capital and maintenance improvement projects within the Maintenance and Engineering department.
Duties:
- Carry out electrical and instrumentation design for capital and maintenance projects
- Liaising with site for E&I; compliance with regard to Project scopes
- Development of operational and capital project budgets
- Manage external electrical and instrumentation design consultants
- Ensure all design work conforms to all statutory requirements and applicable national standards
- Manage cost, schedule and scope for OPEX and CAPEX initiatives
- Manage on-site execution contractors
- Provide engineering support and advice for electrical and instrumentation infrastructure across site
- Attend/Facilitate various Project meetings
- Compile responses to any technical queries raised from site in Project execution
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, preferably a bachelors in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
- 3 – 5 years relevant industry experience involved in site based projects
- Drafting co ordination experience
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Capability to manage multiple projects in accordance with agreed budgets and schedules
