Executive Manager – COE Lead, Workflow & Process Intelligence

You're energised by turning messy process problems into clear, structured, evidence-led solutions We're reimagining how AI transforms the way work gets done across CommBank's Data Science and AI portfolio Together, we'll connect process optimisation and automation to real, measurable value for our AI Acceleration agenda.

Do work that matters

The COE Lead, Workflow & Process Intelligence sits at the intersection of process optimisation, automation, and AI portfolio management. You bring structure to ambiguity — defining the problem before jumping to the solution, and building the analytical backbone that helps the AI Acceleration team make sharper, faster, more confident decisions. You won't just support strategy projects — you'll shape how they're framed, tested, and delivered, working across streams that connect directly to how AI adds value across the Group's data science and AI portfolio.

See yourself in our team

At CommBank, we're reimagining how our businesses work by embedding AI into everyday processes — not as a bolt-on, but as a fundamentally better way of working. Our AI Acceleration team partners directly with businesses to identify friction, structure the case for change, and translate that into practical, adopted improvements. You will work on problems where the analysis genuinely changes the decision.

You'll partner with senior stakeholders who value rigour over noise. You'll help shape how process intelligence and automation become a repeatable capability, not a one-off project.

Your Impact

Process Optimisation & Automation

- Identify and assess opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve workflows that connect directly to AI portfolio management and delivery.
- Support strategy streams focused on process optimisation, translating operational pain points into structured improvement opportunities.

Problem Framing & Analysis

- Define clear problem statements, develop testable hypotheses, and structure analysis so findings are defensible and decision-ready.
- Independently conduct effective, thorough research, data gathering,

and analysis across varied and sometimes ambiguous inputs.

Insight & Communication

- Synthesise complex analysis into meaningful, actionable insights.
- Communicate results effectively and confidently to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority, tailoring the message to what matters to them.

Delivery & Collaboration

- Work productively as part of a team or independently, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Contribute innovative ideas for improving how the Strategy team and broader AI Acceleration function operate.

Growth & Culture

- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, genuine curiosity to learn, and an eagerness to pursue personal and professional development.
- Bring a continuous improvement mindset to how process intelligence work is done, not just what it delivers.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

- Experience structuring ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses and testable analysis.
- Strong research, data-gathering, and analytical capability, with the judgement to know what's decision-relevant.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesise complex findings into insights that land with senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting or driving process optimisation, automation, or workflow improvement initiatives.
- Comfort working autonomously and as part of a team, balancing competing deadlines without losing quality.
- A genuine curiosity for how AI and automation change the way organisations work — and a bias for continuous improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to flex style to the audience.

This role will evolve as the Group's AI ambition grows, and you'll help shape it alongside senior leaders across AI Acceleration, Data Science, and the wider CDAIO community.
