About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and reliable machinery operator to join our contracting business in North-West Tasmania.

The successful applicant will operate specialised heavy machinery across a range of rural projects.

This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must have demonstrated experience operating heavy machinery and be able to provide strong, current references.

Safely and efficiently operate specialised heavy machinery to complete contracting work across rural and commercial properties.

Key responsibilities

- Safely and efficiently operate specialised heavy machinery
- Assess terrain, ground conditions and potential hazards before commencing work
- Carry out daily pre-start checks, basic servicing and routine maintenance
- Identify and report mechanical issues before they become major problems
- Maintain machinery to a high standard
- Work independently and take responsibility for the quality of completed work
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, landowners and other contractors




- Follow all workplace health, safety and environmental requirements

About you

- Significant experience operating heavy tracked machinery
- A strong understanding of machinery care, daily maintenance and fault identification
- A practical and mechanically minded approach
- Good situational awareness and sound judgement
- A reliable, honest and professional attitude
- The ability to work independently without constant supervision
- A current Australian driver's licence
- Strong, verifiable references from previous employers or clients
