About the role The Finance Clerk supports the finance department by handling daily administrative and accounting tasks. This part time role ensures accurate financial record-keeping, smooth processing of invoices, and timely bank reconciliations. Combined with the HR administrator element, this role assists the Church with recruitment and compliance. This position will be based at the Uniting Church Centre in East Perth.

Key responsibilities

- Daily processing and management of accounts
- Processing invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently
- Matching invoices against purchase orders and goods received
- Managing supplier accounts and maintaining vendor records
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly Financial Reports
- Assisting with the preparation for the Annual Audit
- Monthly reporting and reconciliation of all Synod accounts
- Preparing and processing EFT payment runs
- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
- Responding to supplier and internal stakeholder queries

About you





- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Finance Officer or similar transactional finance role
- Strong understanding of invoice processing, reconciliations and payment runs
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience using Xero will be highly regarded
- Sound knowledge of general accounting practices and principles
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office software especially)
- Capacity and willingness to work within the Christian ethos and polity of the Uniting Church
- Right to live and work within Australia
