Your role within the team
As Finance Manager, Financial Control, you will provide key finance support for the Pet Nutrition & Care (PNC) business area. Your remit will include commercial support across pricing and rebates; budgeting and forecasting; P&L; reporting; balance sheet management; and monthly and annual period-end activities for PNC, Marketing and Executives. You will ensure robust governance and processes, oversee the reporting, budgeting and forecasting of all operating expenses, deliver net profit reporting, insights and variance analysis, and manage finance systems in partnership with Finance and IT to maintain the ERP system.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead monthly and annual period close for PNC within timeframes aligned with Group Finance.
- Deliver timely monthly P&L; reporting for the PNC business unit.
- Review PNC balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring risks and opportunities are appropriately managed and communicated.
- Maintain adequate governance processes and controls by regularly reviewing core processes and ensuring they remain fit for purpose.
- Business partner across various OPEX departments, including PNC, Marketing and Executives.
- Lead Group NPAT reporting processes, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and consolidating results for multiple entities.
- Coach, onboard, lead and develop a direct report.
- Prepare the half-yearly impairment assessment model, consolidating inputs and liaising with external auditors on queries.
- Work with Finance and IT teams to maintain financial dimensions and the data integrity of the ERP system.

To make sure we’re setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity:
- Degree qualification with professional accounting accreditation (CA, CPA or CIMA) is essential.
- FMCG experience, preferably gained in an organisation with more than $100M in revenue and a degree of complexity,
will be viewed favourably.
- Strong technical accounting experience and understanding of P&L;, balance sheet accounting and accounting standards, including experience working with auditors.
- Experience in financial and operational reporting.
- A confident and articulate communication and presentation style.
- Experience business partnering with and influencing financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong governance and controls experience, ensuring robust processes, balance sheet management and risk management.
- Experience preparing and presenting financial reports, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong financial analysis skills in Excel and experience working with ERP systems.
