As part of our Technology Platforms team, you'll play a key role in ensuring our business applications effectively support Council services, business processes and strategic priorities.
We are seeking a collaborative and customer-focused Functional Analyst to provide functional support, business analysis expertise and stakeholder engagement across a diverse range of enterprise applications.
About The Role
Reporting to the Lead Analyst, you will act as the vital link between business users, service owners, vendors and technical teams. You'll develop a strong understanding of Council's business applications and processes, helping to resolve issues, support enhancements, gather requirements and improve system outcomes across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Providing day-to-day functional support and troubleshooting for business applications.
- Gathering, analysing and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Conducting process mapping, impact assessments and gap analysis activities.
- Supporting system changes, testing and implementation activities.
- Developing and maintaining user guides, process documentation and other functional artefacts.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Council and external vendors.
- Providing trusted advice on application functionality, enhancements and business process improvements.
- Contributing to system roadmaps, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
You Will Bring
- Experience in a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst,
Application Support or similar role.
- Strong understanding of how business processes are enabled by technology.
- Experience troubleshooting application issues and coordinating resolutions.
- Proven capability in requirements gathering, documentation and business analysis.
- Experience with process mapping, testing and supporting system change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A strong customer focus and commitment to continuous improvement.
- The ability to quickly learn new systems and business processes.
Desirable Experience Includes
- Microsoft SharePoint, Power Apps and Power Automate.
- ERP and/or CRM platforms.
- Local government or public sector environments.
- Enterprise systems commonly used within local government.
