About The Opportunity The General Foreman is responsible for the safe, efficient and successful delivery of civil construction and bridge rehabilitation projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role provides leadership and direction to site-based teams, overseeing daily operations, work sequencing, resource allocation and subcontractor management to ensure project milestones are achieved.
The position serves as the primary coordination point between project stakeholders, site personnel and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed in accordance with safety requirements, quality standards, contractual obligations and project schedules.
The General
Foreman will drive productivity, promote a positive site culture, and ensure Ecospec is represented professionally in all client and contractor interactions.
The role will also contribute to the establishment and growth of Ecospec's Queensland operations and support future business expansion opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning the coming days' and weeks' work across separable portions, sequencing crews, plant and access.
- Supervising one or more crews in respect of all aspects of Ecospec’s work including marine and coastal remediation and maintenance solutions.
- Facilitating and administering project/site induction and orientation process for all Ecospec staff, clients, subcontractors, contractors, labour hire,
temporary agency staff and visitors on your site.
- Ensuring all pertinent company and project related information is communicated to all site personnel enabling them to effectively and safely carry out their functions.
- Setting and maintaining work standards and demonstrate behavioural expectations to create high moral and productivity by reinforcing personal attributes as set in relevant job descriptions.
- Promoting, supporting and facilitating teamwork and harmony between all construction crews by promoting and fostering a positive, visible teamwork attitude among all crews.
About You
- Demonstrated capacity in Leading and managing a site team, both at an operational and professional development level
- Extensive experience in program management and delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to strategically plan initiatives to meet specified outcomes and timeframes.
- Ability to set targets for a team to achieve mutual outcomes.
- Ability to generate, drive and influence people to implement change.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with varied stakeholders.
- Demonstrate experience in financial management and contribute to project budgets.
- Strong technical skills with a client solution focus.
- Sound computer skills and information technology literacy.
