About The Role
As General Manager - Operations, you will lead LifeFlight's operational functions, overseeing the Communications, Coordination and Control (C3) Centre, resource management, contract delivery and operational readiness to ensure the safe, efficient and sustainable delivery of our 24/7 aeromedical, emergency response and aviation services.
Leading a complex, safety-critical environment, you will drive excellence across planning, aviation coordination, workforce and resource optimisation, emergency management and continuous improvement. Working closely with operational leaders and key stakeholders, you will ensure exceptional service delivery while fostering a high-performing, safety-focused culture.

This is a permanent, full-time position based at LifeFlight's Head Office in the Brisbane CBD.
About You
You are an accomplished operational leader with a proven ability to lead high-performing teams in a complex, fast-paced and safety-critical environment. You combine strategic thinking with sound judgement, enabling you to make confident decisions while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service excellence and continuous improvement. An authentic and collaborative leader, you build capability, foster engagement and develop trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience within aviation, aeromedical, emergency services or another complex 24/7 operational setting.
- Strong knowledge of aviation operations, including operational planning, tactical scheduling, resource optimisation, business continuity, operational risk management, CASA regulations, Safety Management Systems (SMS) and emergency response.
- Proven success delivering contract performance, operational excellence, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build strong relationships across diverse teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure environments.
- Experience leading organisational change, developing high-performing teams and fostering a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
- Sound commercial and financial acumen, including budget management, financial oversight and identifying operational efficiencies.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational systems relevant to a complex service delivery environment.
