Next Green Group and Next Business Energy are seeking a motivated and proactive Governance & Capability Lead to support the continued growth and maturity of the Group.

Reporting directly to the Head of Regulation, Risk & Compliance, this role will work across all areas of the business to help improve the way we work, build capability across teams, and support the delivery of key business initiatives.

The role is ideally suited to someone with experience in training, process documentation, procedure development, and operational improvement, ideally within the energy, utilities, or broader regulated services sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience beyond traditional training, quality, operations, or process role. Given the broad scope of the Regulation, Risk & Compliance function, the successful candidate will gain exposure to governance, compliance, risk, customer outcomes, business improvement, transformation initiatives, and regulatory activities across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities- Governance & Business Improvement

- Work with teams across the business to identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
- Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, knowledge articles and operational guidance materials.
- Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of governance, risk and compliance frameworks.
- Support consistent and scalable business practices across the organisation.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives arising from reviews, incidents, complaints and business change activities.

- Training & Capability Development

- Develop and maintain training materials, learning resources and capability programs.
- Support the delivery of training sessions, workshops and awareness activities.
- Assist with onboarding programs and role-based learning pathways.




- Help identify training needs and opportunities to improve employee capability.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and operational excellence.

- Transformation & Change

- Support business improvement and transformation initiatives across the organisation.
- Assist with system implementation projects and process improvement activities.
- Support stakeholder engagement, change adoption and capability uplift.
- Ensure procedures, training materials and operational controls remain aligned with business and system changes.

- Regulatory, Risk & Compliance Support

- Assist the Head of Regulation, Risk & Compliance with governance, risk, and compliance initiatives.
- Support complaints, incidents, investigations, and continuous improvement activities.
- Assist with reporting, evidence gathering, and governance documentation.
- Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the Regulatory Compliance Management System.

About You

- You are practical, organised, and enjoy helping people succeed.
- You have experience developing training materials, documenting business processes and procedures, and supporting teams to adopt new ways of working. Experience within the energy, utilities or a regulated industry environment will be highly regarded.
- You are curious about how businesses operate and enjoy finding opportunities to improve processes, build capability and contribute to positive business outcomes.




- You are comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders, can manage competing priorities and are motivated by the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a genuine impact.

Experience

- Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:
- Energy retail, utilities, or other regulated industries (essential)
- Learning, development, and training (essential)
- Process documentation and procedure writing (essential)
- Business improvement
- Operations, quality assurance, or customer service
- Exposure to Governance, risk, or compliance (essential)
- Project delivery or transformation initiatives
