About The Role

Are you an adventure enthusiast who loves working outdoors? Do you thrive in dynamic environments where no two days are the same? Hot Air is now hiring passionate and dedicated individuals to join our ground crew. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a thrilling and iconic experience, working with a close-knit team to ensure the magic of flight happens smoothly and safely.

As a Ground Crew Member, you will play a vital role in supporting the pilot and passengers during all stages of the flight experience. From inflating the balloon to chasing it across the countryside, you'll be the backbone of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

- Balloon setup and takedown: assist with the preparation of the balloon before flight, including unpacking, inflating, and assembling the basket and envelope.

- Flight tracking: follow the balloon during flight using the chase vehicle, navigating to its landing location to assist with recovery.

- Passenger safety: provide exceptional customer service by assisting passengers in and out of the basket, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.

- Post-flight operations: deflate, pack, and store the balloon and equipment properly after each flight, ensuring everything is ready for the next adventure.

- Equipment maintenance:



perform basic maintenance and safety checks on all ground equipment, ensuring it's always in top working condition.

- Customer interaction: engage with passengers before and after flights, answering questions, helping them feel at ease, and enhancing their overall experience.

What We're Looking For

- Physically fit: this is a hands-on, physical job requiring the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, perform repetitive movements, and work in various weather conditions.

- Outdoor enthusiast: you'll be working in the great outdoors, so you should enjoy being outside regardless of weather.

- Strong communication skills: you'll interact with both the crew and passengers, so excellent verbal communication is essential.

- Team player: being able to work well with others in high-energy situations is key.

- Flexible schedule: early mornings and weekends, flexibility is crucial.

- Driver's licence: a valid driver's licence and the ability to drive a 4WD with a large (8 metre) trailer is required.

- Positive attitude.
