Factory X
Melbourne
Company Description Factory X is a leading Australian fashion retailer established in 1986, with iconic brands including Gorman, Dangerfield, Princess Highway, Black Friday, and the technology-focused Electronic Rebellion. Its brands champion individuality, expression, and inclusivity, and are available in more than 120 flagship destinations across Australia and New Zealand, as well as strong online channels.
We are looking for an experienced Group Omnichannel Marketing Manager to lead marketing across the group, bringing together digital, eCommerce, retail and brand activity into a coordinated, commercially focused marketing function.
This is a pivotal role within Factory X based at our Abbotsford head office.
Working across four very different brands, the Group Omnichannel Marketing Manager will lead a team of approximately 20 people and be responsible for ensuring marketing strategy is effectively translated into activity, executed consistently and measured against clear commercial outcomes.
This role will suit someone who is highly organised, commercially minded and comfortable operating at both a leadership and hands-on level. You don't need to be the person coming up with every creative idea, you need to be exceptional at turning ideas and strategy into action, bringing teams together and maintaining a clear view of performance across a complex retail organisation.
The Role The includes overseeing marketing performance and execution across all four Factory X brands and across all major customer touchpoints.
The role sits at the intersection of brand, eCommerce, performance marketing and retail, ensuring that activity across each channel works together and supports the commercial objectives of the individual brands and the wider group.
A major component of the role is creating a solid operating rhythm across marketing: knowing what is happening, what is working, what isn't, what is being spent and what return the business is generating.
Key Responsibilities
Omnichannel Marketing Leadership
- Lead the execution of marketing strategy across Dangerfield, Princess Highway, Gorman and Electronic Rebellion.
- Translate broader business and brand strategies into clear marketing plans, campaigns, priorities and deliverables.
- Ensure activity is coordinated across eCommerce, digital advertising, CRM, social, brand and physical retail.
- Manage the affiliate program to ensure the affiliate channel meets relevant KPI's.
- Develop and manage annual,
seasonal and campaign marketing calendars across the group.
- Ensure online and in-store marketing activity works together to provide a consistent customer experience.
- Identify opportunities to improve the way channels, teams and brands collaborate.
Team Leadership & Execution
- Lead a multidisciplinary marketing and online team of approximately 20 people, including Brand Managers and collaborating with Online Managers across the four brands.
- Establish clear priorities, responsibilities and deadlines across the marketing function.
- Ensure agreed strategies and initiatives move from planning into execution efficiently.
- Maintain visibility over key projects and campaigns and proactively resolve roadblocks.
- Bring structure and accountability to a fast-moving retail marketing environment.
- Work closely with senior leadership, retail, merchandising, creative, eCommerce and other internal stakeholders.
Performance Marketing
- Oversee paid digital acquisition across Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, ensuring activity is aligned with each brand's objectives and commercial targets.
- Take a particularly active role in Meta advertising, with the ability to understand, review and where required directly manage campaign structures and performance.
- Monitor budgets, customer acquisition, revenue, ROAS and broader channel performance.
- Work with internal teams and external partners where relevant to continually improve campaign performance.
- Ensure paid activity supports both eCommerce sales and the broader retail network.
CRM & Klaviyo
- Oversee the CRM and email marketing strategy across the portfolio using Klaviyo.
- Maintain close visibility over daily EDM and automation performance.
- Monitor key metrics including revenue, conversion, engagement, list growth, deliverability and campaign performance.
- Ensure campaign and automated flow activity supports trading priorities, customer retention and lifetime value.
- Identify opportunities to improve segmentation, personalisation, automation and customer lifecycle marketing.
Retail & In-Store Marketing
- Oversee the marketing component of retail campaigns, launches, promotions and in-store activations.
- Ensure campaigns are effectively rolled out across both physical and digital customer touchpoints.
- Work closely with retail teams to support foot traffic, store performance, openings, launches and key trading periods.
Data, Reporting & Commercial Performance
- Maintain oversight of performance across every major marketing channel, across the group.
- Report regularly on marketing expenditure, revenue, ROAS, ROI and key performance trends.
- Identify underperforming activity quickly and coordinate the appropriate response.
- Track the effectiveness of both online and offline marketing investments.
- Establish benchmarks and KPIs against which future activity can be measured.
- Help the broader business understand where marketing investment is generating value and where it is not.
The successful candidate does not need to be a specialist data analyst, but they must be highly comfortable working with data and disciplined about knowing their numbers.
What we're looking for:
You may have worked in fashion, retail, eCommerce or another fast-moving consumer environment where marketing needs to operate across multiple channels, teams and customer touchpoints.
You will ideally bring
- Significant experience in a marketing, omnichannel, digital or eCommerce role.
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary marketing team.
- Strong experience in retail and/or eCommerce.
- Demonstrated ability to take strategy and turn it into coordinated, effective execution.
- Strong working knowledge of Meta Ads, including campaign structure, optimisation and performance analysis.
- Experience overseeing Google Ads and TikTok advertising.
- Strong understanding of Klaviyo, CRM and email marketing.
- Experience coordinating digital and physical retail marketing activity.
- Solid commercial literacy and confidence discussing revenue, margins, ROAS, ROI, acquisition costs and marketing budgets.
- The ability to interpret data without becoming lost in it, identifying the information that matters to the business.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience managing competing priorities across multiple brands or business units would be highly regarded.
Ultimately, this person will connect strategy, people, channels and performance across a complex and fast-moving retail group.
