The Hotel Services Manager reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for managing non-clinical daily operations, including catering, housekeeping, laundry, and all maintenance services including grounds, general repairs and larger contractual projects.

The role ensures high standards of service, safety, compliance and resident satisfaction, while overseeing asset maintenance, procurement, budgets, contractors and resources.

Responsibilities

- Lead Hotel Services operations in line with Torbay’s vision, values and strategic objectives.
- Manage and support staff, including recruitment, workforce planning, performance and training.
- Ensure compliance with WH&S;, fire safety, infection control, food safety and regulatory requirements including the aged care quality standards.
- Manage the delivery of the food and dining experience of residents, ensuring residents have genuine choice, and that cultural and dietary needs are met within a positive environment.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment throughout the home through the effective management of housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, gardens and facilities.
- Manage procurement, inventory, supplier contracts and contractor performance.
- Coordinate asset maintenance,



equipment compliance and preventative maintenance programs including overseeing all contractors attending site for installation and repairs.
- Monitor department budgets, expenditure and financial performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for resident feedback regarding hotel services, ensuring service excellence.
- Promote a positive team culture, staff wellbeing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- Relevant qualification in Hospitality, Facilities Management, Business Management, Aged Care, or a related field, or 5 years equivalent industry experience Qualification in Leadership and Management (desirable)
- Training in Food Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, or Facilities Management (desirable)
- Fire Warden and First Aid certification (desirable)

Mandatory Requirements

- Evidence of lawful right to work in Australia must be maintained for the duration of employment
- Current National Police Certificate (issued within the last three years).

Recommended COVID-19 vaccination and annual influenza vaccination encouraged

Experience

- Experience in aged care, health care, hospitality, or a similar service environment (desirable)
- Experience/demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
- Proven experience in people management, coaching and mentoring
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience

Skills

- Strong leadership, team management, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff and contractors.
- Demonstrated organisational, planning and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, assets and contractor performance.
- Robust problem-solving, decision-making and continuous improvement capabilities.
- Sound knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards, workplace health and safety, infection control requirements, and safe work practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant management systems.
- Commitment to high-quality service delivery, resident satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
