The Role The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.

As an APS 6 HR Officer within the Australian Submarine Agency (ASA), you will contribute to the delivery of one of Australia's most significant national capability programs through the AUKUS Optimal Pathway.

You will provide high-quality HR advice and deliver workforce initiatives that support the establishment and sustainment of Australia's conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarine workforce.

Working under broad direction, you will build strong relationships with stakeholders across the Agency, providing evidence-based advice and influencing outcomes to achieve business objectives.

You will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, while contributing to continuous improvement, team capability and high-quality HR service delivery.

There are currently vacancies in two key areas:

- Workplace Relations & People Policy – this includes bargaining, policy development, remuneration and change management.
- Talent Management Development – this includes learning & development, graduate & early career programs, and workforce capability, development & professionalisation.

About our Team People Services Branch within the Chief Operating Officer Division, is responsible for developing and implementing key people strategies, policies and programs that support delivery of the nuclear-powered submarine program. This involves functions such as strategic workforce planning, workplace relations and policy, culture, career and talent development, and workplace health and safety.

The Branch is seeking to fill multiple APS 6 positions and is looking for high-performing professionals who are adaptable,



resilient and thrive in a dynamic environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work across a range of HR functions, provide expert advice on complex workforce matters, and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced and evolving operational context.
