About the CommitteeThe Quality Advisory Committee supports the Board by providing oversight and advice on the quality, safety and effectiveness of care and services delivered by Abound Communities. The Committee considers clinical governance, quality performance, resident and client feedback, complaints, incidents, audit outcomes, continuous improvement activity, regulatory requirements and emerging risks. The Committee also receives reports and feedback from the Quality Care Advisory Body and Consumer Advisory Group, supporting the Board to hear consumer voices and make well-informed decisions about care and services.

About the Role

As an Independent Member, you will bring an objective perspective and relevant expertise to support the Committee’s work. You will contribute to discussions, review papers, ask thoughtful questions, provide practical advice and help strengthen oversight of quality, safety, clinical governance and resident experience.

The role is advisory in nature and works closely with Board members, the Committee Chair,



the Chief Executive Officer and senior management. The Independent Member is expected to act with integrity, maintain confidentiality, declare any conflicts of interest and contribute in a constructive and respectful manner.

Key Responsibilities· Provide independent advice on quality, safety, clinical governance and continuous improvement matters.

· Review Committee papers and contribute to informed discussion and decision-making.

· Support the Committee to monitor care quality, resident and client feedback, complaints, incidents, audit outcomes and improvement activity.

· Bring external perspective, sector knowledge or specialist expertise to help strengthen governance oversight.

· Promote a person-centred approach that respects resident choice, dignity, safety and wellbeing.

· Contribute to a culture of transparency, accountability, learning and continuous improvement.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings sound judgement, curiosity and a genuine commitment to high-quality care for older people. You may have experience in aged care, health, clinical governance, quality and risk, consumer engagement, regulation, complaints management, nursing, allied health, governance or a related field.

Previous committee,



board or governance experience will be highly regarded, but we also welcome interest from people with strong sector knowledge, skilled expertise or a clear understanding of resident-centred care.

Selection Criteria

· Relevant experience in aged care, health, clinical governance, quality, risk, consumer advocacy or a related area.

· Ability to interpret reports, ask considered questions and provide practical, evidence-informed advice.

· Understanding of quality, safety, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement in care settings.

· Commitment to person-centred care, consumer voice, dignity, diversity and inclusion.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with Board members, executives and other stakeholders.

· Independence, integrity and willingness to meet confidentiality, conflict of interest and suitability requirements.

Time Commitment The Committee meets regularly during the year, with papers provided in advance. Members are expected to prepare for and attend meetings, participate actively in discussion, and undertake any agreed follow-up actions. Meeting arrangements, including location and attendance options, will be confirmed with the successful candidate.
