About the role The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of our 1.2 Hectare Display Gardens. These gardens offer a diverse range of Horticultural situations including Native, Perennial, Succulent, Woodland and Edible Gardens - alongside formal Lawns and Hedges. Applicants for this role should reflect this.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance the beauty of display gardens through pruning, planting, landscaping, weeding, mulching, and watering
- Ensure all garden areas are kept tidy, healthy, and visually appealing
- Work in a small close-knit team led by the Head Gardener
- Monitor and develop plant health in the gardens to maintain high visual standards
- Involvement with projects to redevelop areas of the gardens
- Engage in physical gardening work throughout the site
- Ensure compliance with company policies, especially OHS and work practices
- Secure use and basic maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery
About you
- Extensive experience in practical gardening work and/or landscaping
- Horticultural knowledge and its practical application in gardening
- Knowledge and experience of applying fertilisers,
herbicides and pesticides in various situations
- Ability to work both in a team and independently
- Passion for horticulture, plant knowledge, and hands-on gardening
- Experience of irrigation systems and an ability to identify watering requirements of plant groups
- Self-motivated, socially and community aware, and responsible
- Able to work to high standards, with an emphasis on quality
- Strong communication skills, written and oral
- Must be an Australian Resident or have a Visa with full working rights
About us This role is based on-site in North Ryde, with very occasional visits to other company sites.
