Job Title - VISL Lead Data Analyst
Job ID - 1144015
- Security Clearance: Baseline Clearance
- Length of Contract: 12 with 1 x 12 months extension possibility

Key duties and responsibilities
- Active participation in small, multi-disciplinary teams, in the design, build, deployment and maintenance of data assets and data products.
- Presentation of complex technical options, decisions and results tailored to audiences with different levels of technical and data literacy.
- Data wrangling, profiling and quality assessment of new or changed data sources and new data integrations
- Translation of business rules and requirements into coded transformations
- Design and prototype development of new data attributes and products
- Data validation testing including defect and anomaly remediation
- Shared accountability for data products that are robust and error free
- Maintaining code base and documentation standards, and sharing knowledge across analyst teams

Essential criteria
- Extensive data analysis experience with a strong ability to prototype high quality solutions from complex disparate datasets.
- Advanced programming expertise (8+ years) across SQL, SAS, R, and/or Python.
- Proven ability to work independently with a clear purpose and deliver high-quality outcomes with limited supervision under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team with active collaboration, sharing of skills and capacity, and shared accountability for team outcomes
- Experience working within an industrialised Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment and understanding of data pipelines,
modelling and data and reporting platform architectures
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to translate business discussions into data flows and process documentation while collaborating effectively in team settings.
Desirable criteria
- Experience with Snowflake, or other cloud data platforms and SAS Viya platforms.
- Familiarity with Fabric Power BI reporting platform
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new analytics platforms and tools as required.

Condensing and encapsulating the characteristics of data, making it easier to surface opportunities, identify risks, analyse trends, to drive effective decision-making. Presenting findings and data insights in creative ways to facilitate the understanding of data across a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
VISL Level 5:
Establishes the purpose and parameters of the data visualisation. Provides overall control, to ensure appropriate use of data visualisation tools and techniques. Formats and communicates results, using textual, numeric, graphical and other visualisation methods appropriate to the target audience.
Advises on appropriate use of data visualisation for different purposes and contexts to enable requirements to be satisfied. Develops plans showing how the identified user needs will be met. Leads exploration of current approaches for data visualisation.
